The series “Homo ex machina” explores the concept of transhumanism, which envisions the progressive evolution of the human being into a new form — hybridized with the machine and shaped by constant interaction with it. But if such a being were to emerge, what would it look like?
No one knows. Yet artificial intelligence and social networks have already profoundly altered our relationship to reality and transformed its very face. Fake news, deepfakes, and chatbots have become unavoidable interfaces through which we access the world.
Conversely, the relative anonymity afforded by pseudonyms and avatars on social media encourages a kind of masquerade that distorts how others perceive us. Digital platforms thus become, once again, the organ through which we perceive the world.
A world where reality softens, where borders dissolve and faces fade.
